ECL was established in 1993 and its core business is the provision of sectoral-based business information and contacts in Kenya through innovative Publications, Exhibitions, Conferences and Websites. Through these products and events, ECL has over the years evolved into a leading Publishing and Event Management firm. The success of the company's projects and activities testifies to the fact that both management and personnel are professional, competent, organized, highly skilled and dedicated to their work.
The members of the ECL Board have diverse experience and expertise. The Chairman is an Aeronautical Engineer and expert in Education. The Managing Director is a Journalist and Publisher. Others are: Professor in Medicine, Nurse, Marketer, IT Expert and Banker.
ECL Publications are forwarded / endorsed by key persons in the respective sectors including but not limited to Government Ministries concerned. The Education exhibitions and conferences attract collaboration from the Ministry of Education who officiate the Events. Key partners in ECL business include the Ministry of Education and Sarit Centre.
For the last 17 years, ECL has published the Kenya Education Directory publication, The Kenya Medical Directory for the last 13 years and the Kenya Careers Information Guide for the last 5 years. These Publications are produced annually to keep up with any changes that occur. ECL has over 10 years Exhibition and Event Management experience. The company has been organizing the Nairobi International Education Fair annually since 1999. It has also organized Healthcare, School and Career exhibitions on various locations since the year 2000.
ECL has also undertaken assignments with various organizations among them Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), Kenya Association of Manufacturers, Fresh Produce Exporters Association of Kenya, Kenya Medical Association, Kenya Secondary School Heads Association, Ophthalmological Society of Eastern Africa (OSEA), among others.
The Company is currently spearheading the formation of Kenya Education Promotion Council which will be responsible for Branding Kenya Education as marketable service locally and internationally. That way, Education will become a central engine in empowering the economic, social and political growth of the county as envisaged in the Vision 2030. In this regard, ECL produces a quarterly journal named THE VISIONARY, which is the Voice of Kenya Education Stakeholders.
