BACKGROUND OF THE KENYA HEALTH CONVENTION & ITS OBJECTIVES
On March 9, 2020, President Uhuru Kenyatta inaugurated the 1st Kenya Health Convention at the Sarit Convention Centre, ushering in a regular forum for showcasing the best of the best in Health products, technologies, innovation and specialized services for the benefit of local and regional consumers.
This Convention essentially aims to network, promote and offer information concerning all Health Sub-sectors in Kenya which include State and Non-state Health entities, Medical Equipment and Health Systems, Hospitals – Public, Private & Faith-based, Pharmaceuticals, Diagnostic Centers, Specialists Clinics, Medical Specialists, Medical Training institutions, Health Support Solutions and Alternative Medicine.
This is a business-centered initiative designed to accommodate all Health stakeholders including the public sub-sector, development partners and NGOs in Health operating in Kenya.
The Convention is also planned to be a source of ideas and information to assist the institutions charged with management of this critical sector of the Kenya economy to improve service delivery.
It is envisaged that the Convention will significantly contribute to the raising of standards of healthcare and the lowering of the cost of that care in Kenya.
The raising of standards and lowering the cost of healthcare in the country will contribute to making Kenya a Regional Medical Tourism Hub and Health Investment Destination.
