About the Convention

All roads for the Health Sector stakeholders and their enterprises will lead to the Nairobi Hospital Convention Centre on November 23-24, 2022, not only to promote and market their products and services but also participate in the deliberations aimed at improving their business environment now and into the future. It is a must-attend for all Health stakeholders as there is something in this Convention for everyone.

On March 9, 2020, President Uhuru Kenyatta inaugurated the 1st Kenya Health Convention at the Sarit Convention Centre, ushering in a regular forum for showcasing the best of the best in Health products, technologies, innovation and specialized services for the benefit of local and regional consumers.

This Convention essentially aims to network, promote and offer information concerning all Health Sub-sectors in Kenya which include State and Non-state Health entities, Medical Equipment and Health Systems, Hospitals – Public, Private & Faith-based, Pharmaceuticals, Diagnostic Centers, Specialists Clinics, Medical Specialists, Medical Training institutions, Health Support Solutions and Alternative Medicine.

This is a business-centered initiative designed to accommodate all Health stakeholders including the public sub-sector, development partners and NGOs in Health operating in Kenya.

The Convention is also planned to be a source of ideas and information to assist the institutions charged with management of this critical sector of the Kenya economy to improve service delivery.

It is envisaged that the Convention will significantly contribute to the raising of standards of healthcare and the lowering of the cost of that care in Kenya.

The raising of standards and lowering the cost of healthcare in the country will contribute to making Kenya a Regional Medical Tourism Hub and Health Investment Destination.

President Kenyatta was accompanied to the inauguration of the Convention by Health Cabinet Secretary Sen. Mutahi Kagwe, Health Principal Secretary Susan Mochache, Chairman of Health Committee of Council of Governors Dr. Mohamed Kuti, Chairman of the Kenya Healthcare Federation Dr. Amit Thakker, the Managing Director of Kenya Investment Authority Dr. Moses Ikiara, Secretary-General of the Christian Health Association of Kenya Dr. Samwel Mwendwa, the Amref Africa Group CEO Dr. Githinji Gitahi together with the World Bank Health Expert Prof.

This high level team endorsed the objectives of the Convention as can be attested from a report from that meeting which is available in the current 26th Edition of Kenya Medical Directory or its online version www.healthcareinkenya.com.

But the momentum of that Convention, which was also attended by over 500 Health stakeholders comprising of medical professionals, investors in health, technocrats as well as dozens of institutions and enterprises, was interrupted by the advent of Covid-19 leading to the suspension of the 2nd Kenya Health Convention last year.
